Al Khor Expressway programme

Aertssen Machinery Services was awarded the installation and transport of various bridge segments for multiple layered flyovers and bridges for the Expressway project. To transport the segments, the extendable seven axle low bed and multiple four axle low bed trailers were used. To lift and install the bridge segments, a Terex cc2800 and a hitachi SCX2800 were put to work. Apart from being responsible for the lifting, installation and transportation for this project, Aertssen also provided the engineering for both transport and lifting operations.

New Orbital Highway (NOH), Doha (QA)

Aertssen Machinery Services was chosen as lifting and transport partner for the construction of the New Orbital Highway. 4 Lowbed trailers with capacity up to a 100 tons were used to transport a grand total of 2168 bridge elements. Aertssen also executed the lifting and installation of 4500 bridge elements which weighed up to 160 tons. Due to the enormous dimensions, 50m long, 4,5m high and were 2,2m in width, elaborate engineering prior to the lift and precise supervision were required.

Doha Metro, Doha (QA)

Aertssen Machinery Services was responsible for various jobs of the Metro Project.
For the Red Line, a gentry for tunnel soil removal had to be dismantled and reinstalled. Steel structures of different weight and dimensions were installed by various Aertssen cranes; 50, 60 and 80ton mobile cranes, 150 and 280ton crawler cranes and finally our state-of-the-art 160ton All Terrain crane. Transportation of a pedestrian bridge and installing multiple tunnel boring machines were also included in the scope of this project.

Construction of bridges to connect Al Maryah Island to main Island of Abu Dhabi (UAE)

To improve the island’s accessibility, 4 additional four bridges were build by using 1 400ton CC and 2 280ton CC to host several elements 40m in lenght and weighing 90 tons.  Elements had to be placed on a pontoon, making the job extra challenging.

OFFSHORE

Aertssen assisted in the preparation and startup Island Satah Al Razboot : The project on SARB involves the drilling of 86 oil wells and the offshore facilities include two riser platforms, four flare platforms, four interconnecting bridges, and a single point mooring (SPM) buoy located to the north of the onshore facility

Aertssen was contacted to execute lifting activities for the construction of onshore accommodation & facilities;  civil & structural works; transportation of generators and construction of Quay Walls & vibro compaction works (18.000.000m³) on the islands of Zakum & SARB.

In total over 20 mobile & Crawlers cranes were shipped to different off-shore islands to complete the works.
